Braider was a human doctor who worked at the Lina Soh Hospital on the planet Coruscant during the Imperial Era. In 1 BBY, she was in charge of Imperial prisoner Luthen Rael, whose state of health was critical after he attempted suicide. After hooking Rael up to life support, Braider exited the room and was met by Imperial Security Bureau Supervisor Dedra Meero, who wanted to interrogate the patient as soon as possible, as Rael was a rebel leader who Meero had been searching for.[1]

When asked when Rael could be ready for ISB interrogation, Braider responded by saying that Rael was only alive due to the technology in the room he was being treated in. Meero retorted that it was an "Elevated ISB Priority" and told Braider to speak with her medical director about the ISB's expectations, finishing by saying that she would be taking control of the hallway and everyone else needed to be cleared out. Braider said that her patients were the priority and that the entire floor was full, but Meero only replied by saying that Braider would do a better job moving them than she would. Upset, Braider left to accommodate Meero's orders. The hospital's nineteenth floor was then locked down by stormtroopers and ISB tactical agents, with units posted at each ingress and egress. Despite the security, Rael's accomplice Kleya Marki was able to sneak into the hospital disguised as a nurse and killed Rael, ensuring he would not divulge any rebel secrets to the Empire.[1]

Personality and traits

Braider was a doctor who cared for her patients. When the ISB's Dedra Meero gave her orders that complicated the care of many of her patients in favor of securing the patient Luthen Rael, an Imperial prisoner, Braider argued but eventually was forced to relent.[1]

Behind the scenes

Braider was portrayed by Pandora Colin in the episode "Make It Stop." While Braider was listed in the episode's credits as "Braider,"[1] the Databank on StarWars.com identified the character as "Bralder."[2] The incongruence was later corrected.[3]
