During the Galactic Civil War, the Bothan Spynet undertook an intelligence operation on behalf of the Alliance to Restore the Republic. During the course of the mission, a massive loss of life occurred, including many Bothans, but the spynet learned that the Galactic Empire was constructing a second Death Star at the moon Endor in the Moddell sector.[1] The Bothans also managed to secure footage from Endor of the Death Star II's construction, which less than a week after the operation, was shown to Alliance High Command and the Alliance's top admirals and generals at a meeting on Zastiga.[2]
