"Did you manipulate that Temple Guard into giving away our position to the Nihil? Was it one of your games, Azlin?"
"No, Reath. Of course not. How could I have?"
―Reath Silas and Azlin Rell[1]

Borthas Mitto was a human male who served in the Jedi Temple Guard of the Jedi Order during the High Republic Era. He was posted outside the door to the cell of the former Jedi Azlin Rell in the lower levels of the Jedi Temple. Both Jedi Knights Reath Silas and Vernestra Rwoh recognized the masked Temple Guard due to his stance, favoring his left leg as if a result of an old injury. As per an order from the Temple Guards, Mitto would enter Rell's quarters whenever the former Jedi knocked. After witnessing Mitto entering the cell on multiple occasions and discovering unauthorized use of a comm unit near Rell's cell, Rwoh, suspecting it had been used to send information to the Nihil marauders, accused the Temple Guard.[1]

Mitto was taken into custody and questioned by Rwoh and Jedi Master Keaton Murag, and the Temple Guard was cooperative; he claimed to have no knowledge of the comm unit and explained that he merely followed Rell's requests for food or drink and did not engage in further conversation or receive any unusual requests. Regardless, the Jedi Order learned of a supposed informant in the Temple who had compromised Silas's mission to the planet Tolis. Rwoh further suspected that Mitto had unknowingly been manipulated by Rell, but had no evidence to prove her theory. Although there was no reason to punish Mitto, a second guard was posted by Rell's quarters as a precaution. While Rell admitted it was within his ability to manipulate the Temple Guard, the former Jedi—who had previously been assisting Silas in his investigations into the Nameless creatures—claimed that he would have no reason to endanger the Jedi Knight.[1]
