Bormter was a Wild Space planet that was home to the four-armed reptiloid Bormterran species. Following the Battle of Endor, Moff Delurin broke with the Galactic Empire and declared himself a warlord, conquering Bormter with his warship, the Galaxy Dragon. Delurin used Bormter as a base and recruited Bormterrans to serve in the dragon trooper military unit.

Description

Bormter was a terrestrial planet occupying the fifth orbital position within the Svekk system[2] of Wild Space.[1] The planet lay in one of the frontier areas of Wild Space.[2]

History

Bormterrans were native to Bormter and served as dragon troopers for Warlord Delurin.

Bormterrans were native to Bormter and served as dragon troopers for Warlord Delurin.

Shortly after the death of Galactic Emperor Palpatine during the Battle of Endor[2] in 4 ABY,[3] Imperial Moff Delurin split from the Empire, declaring himself Warlord of Wild Space. His first action as a warlord was to use the prototype Dragon-class Heavy Cruiser Galaxy Dragon, manned by a crew of loyal supporters, to conquer Bormter.[2]

The planet had all the necessary resources for Delurin to establish a power base for an empire that he proceeded to carve out in Wild Space, as well as a supply point for the Galaxy Dragon and its crew. Delurin also recruited the planet's native Bormterrans to serve as the dragon troopers, an elite military unit ultimately loyal to the warlord.[2]

Inhabitants

Bormter was the homeworld of the Bormterrans, a species of tall, four-armed reptiloids that, although technologically primitive, were fierce melee fighters.[2]

Behind the scenes

Bormter was first mentioned in "The Galaxy Dragon and crew," an article written by Bill Slavicsek as a supplement for West End Games' Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game and published in Dragon Magazine 200 in December 1993. Since that article was released outside of the Lucas Licensing process,[2] it was considered non-canonical with respect to the Star Wars Legends continuity.[4] The 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas placed the Svekk system, and therefore Bormter, in grid square H-14.[5]
