"Smells a little heavy on the Boontaspice. Want me to taste that for you?"
"Ah, ah. Forget it Kay. I don't care what Bram says, go freeload somewhere else."
―Kay Vess to a Twi'lek cook — 20?cb=20250116042720 ▶️ (file info)[1]

Boontaspice was a type of seasoning used in cooking that was consumable by humans.[1] In 3 ABY,[2] it used to season dishes served in The Broken Hoof, a bar in the South Stretch Worker's District of Canto Bight.[1]

This section of the article assumes 100% game completion of Star Wars Outlaws. Any alternate stories may be noted in the "Behind the scenes" section. The events in this section may or may not have been confirmed as canon.

That year,[2] Kay Vess tried to get a free meal from the bar's Twi'lek cook by suggesting that it smelled a little to heavy on the Boontaspice and offering to taste it for them. The cook rejected Vess's offer, telling her to freeload somewhere else.[1]

Behind the scenes

Boontaspice was mentioned in the current Star Wars canon in the 2024 video game, Star Wars Outlaws, developed by Massive Entertainment and published by Ubisoft.[1] Boontaspice was originally introduced in Star Wars Legends continuity in the 1996 novel Shadows of the Empire, written by Steve Perry.[3]
