Blue Sweetcake

Blue Sweetcakes were a type of sweetcake that was served during the Decadent Finale course of the Taste Around the Galaxy dinner for those passengers seated at the captain's table in the Crown of Corellia Dining Room on the MPO-1400 Purgill-class star cruiser Halcyon^[1] in 34 ABY.^[2] The dessert was safe for humans to consume, and was often served alongside a variety of cookies.^[1]

Behind the scenes

Blue Sweetcakes were macarons available in the real world at the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser hotel in Walt Disney World Resort, Florida,^[1] which opened to the public on March 1, 2022.^[3] It was last served at the hotel during the September 28 –30 voyage of 2023, the final voyage before the closure of Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser.^[4] The dessert was served during dinner on the second night of the voyage for guests who had purchased seating at the Captain's table. They bore a resemblance to the blue macarons featured in the television series Star Wars: The Mandalorian. The menu described the dessert as "Petite Blue Macaron with Sea Salt Caramel."^[5]

Although the menu description of this dessert calls it a blue macaron, the inconsistency of menu descriptions aboard the Galactic Starcruiser being in-universe or out-of-universe terms leads to ambiguity for whether Blue Sweetcakes are, at least in-universe, a type of blue macaron or are something distinct. This article assumes the latter due to sea salt caramel being a clearly out-of-universe term.
