Blubs were a type of marine[2] fish[1] native to the ocean moon of Kef Bir. The members of Company 77, a group of human First Order deserters living on the moon, fished for blubs and striped canths as a food source in raging seas[2] that teemed with shoals of both creatures. On a productive day of fishing, the fishers would fill the two sea skiffs they used with blub and striped canth[3] and then bake them over fires back on land.[2] Members of the company used what they killed efficiently, harvesting not only meat but other materials as well.[3]

Blubs were first mentioned in the 2019 reference book Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker: The Visual Dictionary, which was written by Pablo Hidalgo.[3]
