A blowtorch was an industrial tool that produced heat. Common blowtorches were fuelled by acetylene, while more advanced models ran on hydrocarbon fuels. Blowtorches were often fitted on droids, and could be used as an improvised weapon.[1] The 11-17-series mining droid was equipped with a blowtorch mounted on a telescoping arm. The blowtorch was used by the droid to burn organic debris, or soften up a target area prior to blasting it with its top-mounted plasma jet.[2]
