Blackbark-wood was a type of rigid wood that came from blackbark trees and could be used to make doors.[1] In 40 BBY,[2] when the Pijali royal guard captain Deren refused to give his opinion on the cause of an apparent assassination attempt on the Inner Rim planet Pijal's Princess Fanry to the world's lord regent, Rael Averross, the latter thought of the refusal as a blackbark-wood door being slammed shut in his face. In the same conversation, Averross mentally compared Deren's facial expression to blackbark-wood's rigidity.[1]
