The black ice vulture^[2] or simply the ice vulture^[4] was a type of bird native to the icy planet Barton IV.^[1]

Biology and appearance

Black ice vultures were large carnivorous birds that were at home in the icy conditions of Barton IV.^[1] The vultures were one of the few living things who could survive the cold and windy temperatures of the planet for an long periods of time.^[5]

Their blue plumage helped blend in with the landscape.^[2] With massive wingspans, ice vultures could swoop and sail through the air with ease, screeching. Black ice vultures would appear solitary or, if prey was present, sometimes several would appear together.^[1] The vultures would feast on any creatures unable to withstand the freezing conditions, or who were just unlucky.^[5] The birds were equipped with sharp beaks and razor-sharp talons.^[2]

History

Clone Commander Mayday warned Crosshair about the vultures' danger when he arrived on Barton IV. At the same time, Mayday also admired the vultures' ability to survive there.^[1]
