The Binder Wing Transport, also called Binder Wing Glider Transport, BTW, or BTW-77, was a flying vehicle[1] associated with the Hunters of the Outer Rim within the Grand Arena on the planet Vespaara.[2] They consisted of two mirrored components, each sporting retractable wings, two engines, and a steering handle, connected to each other via a binder beam,[1] similar to many podracer models.[3] The pilot dangled from underneath the hang-glider, manipulating the handles to control the direction and speed at which the glider flew.[1]
Hunters would utilize the gliders to fly into arenas from launch areas high above. They were highly customizable, with some variants coming equipped with astromech droid and potentially even laser cannons like the KX9.[1]
The Binder Wing Transport was designed for the video game Star Wars: Hunters, which was developed by NaturalMotion's BossAlien[2] and initially published by Zynga on November 16, 2021 as a soft launch[4] before the global release on June 4, 2024.[5] They were designed by concept artist Clint Young early into the game's production as a part of a planned "battle royale" game mode[1] similar to the popular video game Fortnite,[6] though the concept was eventually scrapped and the BWTs went unused. They were designed to have multiple cosmetic changes, with two initially planned, one based off of an Imperial TIE Fighter, and the other was a "Legendary" rarity variant based off of the Rebel X-wing starfighter, with an "Outer Rim" variant meant to have been determined at a later date.[1]
