Besero was a mining world[2] situated in the Deep Core's Besero system. During the reign of the Galactic Empire, Besero was the site of pitch-black lumni-mines, with dark rumors and mutterings spreading about the world.[1] By the time of the Galactic Civil War between the Empire and the Rebel Alliance, the Tagge Mining Corporation caused many problems for the bureaucrats of Besero.[2]

Behind the scenes

Besero was first mentioned in Bill Smith's 1992 Second Edition core rulebook of West End Games' Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game. In the book, the world is mentioned in a hypothetical gameplay example where the bounty hunter player character Tirog, who is employed by the Tagge Mining Corporation, visits Besero. In the example, Tirog's affiliation causes problems for him when dealing with the world's bureaucracy.[2] The 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas placed Besero in grid square L-10.[1]
