Ben Neluenf was the first great podracer born on the desert planet of Tatooine. At some point prior to the Invasion of Naboo[1] in 32 BBY,[2] Neluenf lost his life in a spectacular attempt to scale a broad, flat-topped mountain located between the Desert Plain and the Hutt Flats on Tatooine. As a tribute, the site of his death was christened Ben's Mesa.[1]

Behind the scenes

In the current Star Wars canon, Ben Neluenf was mentioned in the 2016 reference book Star Wars: Complete Locations. It was part of material reprinted[1] from the 2000 reference book Inside the Worlds of Star Wars: Episode I, which was written by Kristin Lund and marked the first mention of the character in the Star Wars Legends continuity.[3]
