In 44BBY, when Obi-Wan Kenobi and Qui-Gon Jinn encountered a Silan lair, Kenobi expressed a belief that they were mythical, like barracles and glooths. However, his master confirmed that silans were real. It is not known if the legends of barracles and glooths were also based on fact.
