Biography
- "Borvo has a -- reputation, and the authorities tend to keep an eye on his known associates."
- ―Bardo Klinj, to a spacer
Bardo Klinj was a criminal who worked for Borvo the Hutt, a crime lord based on Naboo. After the Battle of Yavin, he was the lieutenant of Borvo in the city of Keren. During this time, Klinj had to deal with Kritus Morven's gang,[1] a rival criminal group very active in Keren.[2]
In 1 ABY,[3] Bardo Klinj employed a spacer to help him with several tasks. Bardo first tasked the spacer with delivering an unmarked package containing Kassoti spice to an Imperial courier in order to corrupt an Imperial officer. Thereafter, the adventurer had to meet another Imperial courier, Val Tula, to receive a "gift" for Borvo from a grateful Imperial official, namely Imperial export permits. Although the spacer was attacked by Kritus Morven's henchmen, the individual carried out the tasks successfully, and was awarded 250 credits from Klinj. Some time later, Bardo Klinj was concerned about a Gungan named Mubarr who refused to reimburse the money he owned to Borvo the Hutt. Bardo's slicer had sliced Mubarr's bank records and had discovered that the Gungan had enough money to pay. Bardo therefore requested the spacer to enforce Mubarr to give the codes of his bank account.[1]
Behind the scenes
Bardo Klinj was a non-player character in the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies, a massively multiplayer online role-playing game developed by Sony Online Entertainment and published by LucasArts,[1] prior to its closure on December 15, 2011.[4]
Bardo Klinj could be found in the city of Keren on Naboo,[1] where he was intended to give four quests to players.[5] However, the third task was bugged as the Gungan Mubarr did not spawn. It was thus impossible to complete Bardo Klinj's questline.[1][6][7] In the non-playable fourth quest, the player would have been tasked to escort a Twi'lek majordomo named Xan'lak.[5]

Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided — Static Quest: "Kritus Morven" on Naboo
- ↑ The opening crawl of Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided dates the game to after the events of Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, and additionally, Serji-X Arrogantus, who died in Star Wars (1977) 10—the events of which The New Essential Chronology dates to 0 ABY—appears in the game. Therefore, at least a portion of Star Wars Galaxies must be set in that year. Furthermore, in the game Ruwan Tokai references the destruction of the Death Star as having occurred one year earlier, and Strongholds of Resistance also places the events of Galaxies' Chapter 9: "The Fury of Exar Kun" in 1 ABY. Lastly, while Chapter 11: "The Battle of Echo Base" features the Battle of Hoth—dated to 3 ABY by The New Essential Chronology—the developers have stated that the portrayal of that battle in the game is intentionally anachronistic. Therefore, the events of Star Wars Galaxies must span from 0 ABY to around 1 ABY.
