- "Banthas are common on many worlds, and bred for their meat, wool, hides, and milk."
- ―Hondo Ohnaka, Galactic Explorer's Guide
Bantha wool also spelled Bantha-wool was a type of wool harvested from banthas, a hairy, domesticated species bred for their wool as well as their meat, hide, and milk. The wool was mentioned in an entry on banthas in the section concerning the planet Tatooine in the pirate Hondo Ohnaka's book, Galactic Explorer's Guide.[1] Vi Moradi liked to knit using bantha wool yarn to make fuzzy hats.[2]
Behind the scenes
Bantha wool first appeared in the canon continuity in the 2019 novel A Crash of Fate written by Zoraida Córdova.[2] It was later pictured in player's inventory in the 2024 video game Star Wars Outlaws developed by Massive Entertainment.[3]
The wool was first mentioned in the Star Wars Legends continuity in "Of Possible Futures: The Tale of Zuckuss and 4-LOM" short story by M. Shayne Bell.[4]
