Bantha cheese was first canonically mentioned in the 2019 young readers reference book Star Wars: Creatures Big & Small written by Calliope Glass and Caitlin Kennedy.[1]
Bantha cheese first appeared in the non-canon crossover special Phineas and Ferb: Star Wars,[2] which premiered on July 26, 2014.[3] It was used as one of the primary ingredients of a bantha cheese hoagie.[2]
