Badru was a gangster and member of the Sullustan Surat Nuat's gang, which operated during the Imperial Era on the Outer Rim jungle planet Akiva.[1] By 3 ABY,[2] Nuat had formed an alliance with the Hutt Cartel, making the gang and its members an extension of the Hutts' business on Akiva. As a result, the gang had access to a vault within the Hutt Cartel District of Akiva's capital city Myrra, with Badru having one of at least three keycards required to unlock the vault.[1] In 3 ABY,[2] he left the card on a table outside the building containing the vault.[1]
That year,[2] the thief Kay Vess learned of Badru's keycard and its approximate location from a data terminal near the sealed vault. She later stole the keycard from the table and used it and the two other keycards to deactivate the vault's ray shield and steal some of its contents.[1]
Behind the scenes
Badru was mentioned in the 2024 Massive Entertainment video game, Star Wars Outlaws. The intel quest specifies that Badru keeps the keycard on him at all times, however the player finds the keycard unaccompanied and none of the nearby patrolling Hutt Cartel guards are identified as Badru. Stealing the card is required to complete the optional "Hutt Cartel Vault" intel quest which rewards the player with 5000 credits, the Exhaustion Shift Token, and the "Boonta Brawler" paint scheme for the player's S57 Cardinal speeder bike.[1]
