Baas's Wisdom

Baas's Wisdom, named for the legendary Jedi Master Bodo Baas, was an uncommon crystal seldom used in lightsaber construction. The crystal imparted a freezing effect when used during combat, inflicting a minor amount of frostbite. The Baas's Wisdom crystal gave a lightsaber blade a notable navy blue color.

Behind the scenes

Baas's Wisdom appeared in the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies, a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game developed by Sony Online Entertainment and published by LucasArts,^[1] prior to its closure on December 15, 2011.^[2]

Baas's Wisdom was part of a series of 19 unique lightsaber color crystals created in the context of the Publish 9's Jedi system revamp^[3] in June 2004.^[4] However, only one of those crystals — Sunrider's Destiny — was made available in the game.^[5] Baas's Wisdom and the other crystals were not introduced in the game at that time.^[6]^[7] Baas's Wisdom was eventually added to the game with the release of the Hotfix 21.4 on October 20, 2011. Players had a small chance to loot the crystal from enemies defeated during raids.^[8]
