BG01-1 was a BG01-1 farming droid programmed for farming and security in Habo village on the planet Habo. It was capable of moving back and forth on a repulsorlift, automatically collecting weeds and monitoring the fields. It was conical in shape and had a black photoreceptor on its grey, white, and green outer shell. The top of the droid had an antenna and was able to rise from the base, revealing a second black sensor and a red sensor. It also had three retractable arms with two prongs each for plucking weeds.[1]

Behind the scenes

BG01-1 was created for the "The Elder," a non-canon short film released as part of the first volume of the Star Wars: Visions series. The animated short, produced by Trigger, was released on Disney+[2] on September 22, 2021.[3] The droid, however, did not appear in the episode.[2] Concept art for the droid appeared in Zack Davisson's 2022 reference book The Art of Star Wars: Visions. Its design was based on traditional Asian conical hats.[1]
