- "We've got a pirate cruiser on us."
- ―ND-5, to Kay Vess
The B84-Viper was a cruiser used by criminal factions during the Imperial Era including the Ashiga Clan, the Pyke Syndicate, and pirates. One Pyke Syndicate B84-Viper and Pyke JLF-19 Junkros Fighters battled a pair of Mining Guild Freighters from the Hutt Clan and a group of ARC-200 Wing Cutter Fighters in Tatooines orbit[1] in 3 ABY.[2] The scoundrel Kay Vess and ND-5 stumbled on the battle as they arrived from hyperspace.[1]
The Viper was armed with six laser cannon turrets and missile launchers and had six sublight engines along with a hyperdrive system. The B84 was fitted with a hangar bay that had port and starboard openings and could hold at least four starfighters.[1]
Behind the scenes
The B84-Viper first appeared in Star Wars Outlaws, a 2024 canon video game developed by Massive Entertainment and Ubisoft.[1] Concept design for the cruiser was done by Concept Artist Arnaud Kleindienst under Lead Concept Artist Samuel De Vos, Associate Art Directors Marthe Jonkers and Gerard Miley, and Art Director Benedikt Podlesnigg. Work on the final assets was done by Fredrik Andersson and 3D Environment Artist Pablo Gallego,[3] who was part of Ubisoft's vehicle team. The capitalization of the B84-Viper was confirmed on Gallego's ArtStation upload.[4]
