The B2 grapple droid was a variant of the B2-series super battle droid model which was designed for close-range combat.[2] They served as a successor to the B1 grapple droid.[1] The B2 grapple droid was one of the droids that participated in the Battle of Ord Mantell. One unit discovered Gar Saxon, a member of Black Sun, and a Pyke hiding behind cover during the battle and punched through to their position, grabbing the Pyke and pulling him through the wall.[2]
