Axut Klem was a Praelion who served as a senator in the Galactic Senate of the Galactic Republic during the High Republic Era, representing[1] the Inner Rim[2] Japrael sector. A stern individual, throughout his career, Klem had little direct connections to the Jedi — a monolithic order that worked alongside the Republic as peacekeepers beneath its rule — despite the presence of two outposts within the Japrael sector, where Axut was an influential leader.[1] In 132 BBY,[3] however, he had been brought round to Senator Worus Rayencourt and his proposed external review of the Order, which included contentious sentiments that Klem had begun to echo, being willing to place the Jedi installations within his sector under surveillance.[1]
