An automated saline pump, known simply as a saline pump, was a device used by Clawdite shapeshifters to modify the amount of saline within their limbic systems. This allowed the species to shapeshift into a broader range of lifeforms, as the amount of saline within a Clawdite's body directly affected the size and mass of their transformations. Automated saline pumps were illegal to own, and were sold on the black market for 2,500 credits.[1]

Automated saline pumps were first mentioned in No Disintegrations,[1] a 2017 supplement for the Star Wars: Edge of the Empire roleplaying game published by Fantasy Flight Games.[2]
