The Aur Diamonds was a collection of objects made out of diamond that was situated in the[1] Colonies'[3] Aur system. It consisted of Aur IX and Aur X, which were spheres the size of terrestrial worlds, and a cloud of tumbling diamond fragments. They occupied the ninth, tenth, and eleventh orbital positions in the star system, respectively. The creation of the Aur Diamonds was widely attributed to members of the Celestial species,[1] which had disappeared from the galaxy by 30,000 BBY.[2]
Behind the scenes
The Aur Diamonds were originally meant to be mentioned in the 2012 reference book The Essential Guide to Warfare by Jason Fry and Paul R. Urquhart; however, the sidebar that would have mentioned the objects was cut before the book's release. The information regarding the Aur Diamonds was later released in 2013 as part of Star Wars: The Essential Guide to Warfare Author's Cut, a series of articles published on the StarWars.com Blog by Fry and Del Rey editor Erich Schoeneweiss containing various cut content from The Essential Guide to Warfare.[1]
