- "Padaunete's latest update includes eyewitness testimony from worlds as scattered as Atrakus, Teyr, Haruun Kal, and Berchest."
- ―CIS Shadowfeed news report
Atrakus was a world[3] located in the Atrakus system, a part of the Mikaster sector in the Trailing Sectors portion of the Expansion Region.[1] During the Clone Wars, the Jedi watchgroup People's Inquest resumed broadcasting HoloNet transmissions after a temporary shutdown by the Galactic Republic's HoloCommunications Commission. One particular update of the People's Inquest transmissions program included eyewitness testimony from Atrakus of what the group's leader, Thrynka Padaunete, labeled as "atrocious abuse carried out in the name of" the Republic's Supreme Chancellor,[3] Palpatine,[4] and the Jedi High Council of the Jedi Order—a fact that was noted in a 14:10:05 release of the CIS Shadowfeed news and propaganda program maintained by the Republic's enemy in the war, the Confederacy of Independent Systems.[3]
Behind the scenes
Atrakus was mentioned in "CIS Shadowfeed Dispatch 14:10:05 Edition," an article written by Pablo Hidalgo as an in-universe news report. It was published in the seventy-first issue of the Star Wars Insider magazine[3] on September 26, 2003.[5] The 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas placed the Atrakus system, and therefore Atrakus itself, in grid square M-15.[2]
