The Argo system was located in the Tragan Cluster,[1] a part of the New Territories portion of[2] the Outer Rim Territories.[1]
Behind the scenes
The Argo system was introduced in the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas, authored by Daniel Wallace and Jason Fry, which placed it in grid square N-5.[2] The name of the system built upon the mention of the astronomical object Argo-6 in the 1993 book Monsters and Aliens from George Lucas, a publication that combines creature designs and photographs from various projects of George Lucas, creator of the Star Wars franchise, with original text by Bob Carrau.[3]
In Monsters and Aliens from George Lucas, Argo-6 is described as a terrestrial celestial body that was home to a family, all members of which maintained miniature farms in their mouths. At one point, while a molecular dentist on Argo-6 was performing a routine procedure on one member of the family, she discovered the farm in her patient's mouth.[3] Lucasfilm employee Leland Chee, who maintains the Holocron continuity database, has indicated that information contained in Monsters and Aliens from George Lucas is non-canonical[4] with respect to the Star Wars Legends continuity.[5]
