The Aparian Wastes was a rocky area on the Outer Rim Territories planet Serenno. Just before the Clone Wars, the Spike, a vast underground prison, was constructed there by the Confederacy of Independent Systems to hold highly valuable prisoners that Count Dooku wanted to interrogate himself.[1] Another prison with a similar purpose was located below Castle Serenno on the same planet.[2]

Behind the scenes

The region was first mentioned in the Star Wars: Build the Millennium Falcon 70 magazine published by De Agostini.[3] However, the region was first explored in the 2019 sourcebook, Collapse of the Republic.[1] In Star Wars Legends, the location's first appearance was in the eighth issue of the Star Wars: Agent of the Empire comic series published by Dark Horse Comics.[4]
