"What in the blazing fires of Lola Sayu was that?"
"That was an antiplasma charge. I would've thought you'd know an antiplasma charge when you saw one."
"I am not addled. Of course I'm capable of recognizing an antiplasma charge. What I don't recognize is why you would insist on our anonymity, for protection from Czerka Corporation, and then do something almost guaranteed to attract attention? Something risky? Something utterly unnecessary?"
―Pax Maripher and Rahara Wick, after the latter saved an ailing soulcraft with an antiplasma charge[1]

Antiplasma charges could be used to dispel plasma fire. In 40 BBY, the Gozanti-class cruiser Meryx's pilot, the jewel thief Rahara Wick, fired a single antiplasma charge to save a struggling soulcraft that had been attacked by Pijali blackguards above the Inner Rim planet Pijal. Afterward, Wick explained her actions to her colleague, Pax Maripher, and again later to Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn and his Padawan, Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Description

A type of charge, antiplasma charges were capable of dispelling plasma fire caused by plasma bombs.[1]

History

"Look. Their manifest wasn't locked. So this was here for everyone to see. That means Czerka property. Let's get this straight. If I see people like that, in that kind of trouble, and there's something I can do to help them, I'm going to do it. If you can't accept that, then find yourself another pilot."
"By Elath. Such drama. It's not as though I were about to toss you out the nearest air lock. I merely wanted to know why you did it. You have told me. Therefore our conversation has come to a satisfactory conclusion."
―Rahara Wick and Pax Maripher, after the former's usage of an antiplasma charge[1]

During the Republic Era, the jewel thieves Pax Maripher and Rahara Wick kept at least one antiplasma charge equipped on their Gozanti-class cruiser, the Meryx.[1] In 40 BBY,[2] Pijali blackguard soldiers—who were secretly operating under the orders of Pijal's Princess Fanry to derail the Governance Treaty initiative's signing ahead of her coronationattacked a Pijali soulcraft vessel with a plasma bomb above the Inner Rim planet Pijal. The Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn and his Padawan, Obi-Wan Kenobi, who had arrived in the Pijal system moments before, donned space-suits and began dispelling the plasma fire on the soulcraft's hull.[1]

Maripher and Wick, who were scouting the system for gems, witnessed the attack from nearby. Wick—who had been formerly enslaved by the Czerka Corporation—noticed that soulcraft's manifest listed thirty-seven "items of sentient property," meaning the vessel had enslaved individuals aboard. She piloted the Meryx forward and fired a single antiplasma charge, saving the soulcraft and its occupants, before moving their cruiser safely out of view behind Pijal's moon. Maripher was astonished and questioned her actions afterward, wondering why she would risk endangering their anonymity. Wick firmly explained her reasoning for saving the individuals aboard, indicating that she would always seek to help those in need.[1]

Later, Jinn and Kenobi tracked Wick and Maripher to Pijal's moon. After Jinn pointed out that she had saved the soulcraft with the antiplasma charge, Kenobi questioned why she had decided to flee afterward. The jewel thief indicated that there had been no reason not to help, showing them the scar on her hand that marked her as formerly enslaved as both the reason she had felt compelled to help and why she had needed to not be re-discovered by Czerka.[1]
