Anoat oats were an edible plant species of cereal which could be eaten by members of the Besalisk species. The oats were served with two strips of Nuna bacon at the Besalisk chef Dexter Jettster's eatery, Dex's Diner in the CoCo Town district of the planet Coruscant. The dish cost 4.7 credits and was the second breakfast special of the Pantoran plate special, a series of dishes available on the diner's menu. It was served at Dex's[1] up until the diner's destruction during the first two years of the Galactic Empire's rule.[2] It shared its name with Anoat, a habitable planet in the Greater Javin region of the galaxy.[3]
Behind the scenes
Anoat oats were first mentioned in the 2009 StarWars.com Hyperspace exclusive article, "Dining at Dex's," which was written by Gregory Walker as an in-universe menu for Dex's Diner.[1]

- ↑ The Last of the Jedi: Underworld established that Dex's Diner was destroyed by the Galactic Empire. The Essential Reader's Companion later stated that the novel took place around the year 18 BBY. The New Essential Chronology states that the Empire was formed in 19 BBY, so Dex's Diner was destroyed either during 19 BBY or 18 BBY.
