Analysis was a branch within the Galactic Empire's Imperial Intelligence organization. Analysis was responsible for surveying and interpreting an abundance of surveillance data and information acquired daily. Among the data, it monitored media transmissions, verified communication channels, broke encryptions, and assessed enemy equipment and techniques.[1]
Behind the scenes
Analysis was mentioned in the current Star Wars canon in the 2018 roleplaying supplement Dawn of Rebellion, published by Fantasy Flight Games.[1] In the Star Wars Legends continuity, the Analysis Bureau was introduced in the 1989 Imperial Sourcebook written by Greg Gorden and published by West End Games for use with Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game.[2] It performed a similar role of examining data and information.[3]
