"No way this is ameron skin. Zelk husk maybe, but ameron? Nah."

Ameron was a creature whose durable skin was used in clothing. While on[1] the planet[2] Batuv in 10 BBY,[3] the smuggler Lando Calrissian visited the stall of the Trandoshan vendor Borkus with the intent of purchasing a cape. After Borkus offered Calrissian a blue cape of what he claimed to be ameron skin, the smuggler claimed that the cape did not resemble ameron skin, but instead zelk husk. Taking it as an accusation of lying, Borkus threatened to turn Calrissian into a cape.[1]

Calrissian returned to his starship, the Millennium Falcon, not long afterward, having been hired by the freedom fighter Kristiss to smuggle weapons to the Petrusians on[1] the planet[4] Kullgroon. They were chased by Imperial TIE fighters, leading Calrissian's droid L3-37 to note that[1] she[2] could attempt to cover the vessel in ameron skin in lieu of repairing their deflector shields, as their ship was also in need of other costly maintenance.[1]

Behind the scenes

The skin of ameron was mentioned in the first issue of the Star Wars: Lando - Double or Nothing comic series, which was written by Rodney Barnes, illustrated by Paolo Villanelli, and published by Marvel Comics[1] on May 30, 2018.[5]
