Borkus (center) showed Lando Calrissian (left) a cape that he claimed was ameron skin, but the latter believed it was actually zelk husk.

A zelk was a creature whose husk could be used in the production of clothing. While on[1] the planet[2] Batuv in 10 BBY,[3] the smuggler Lando Calrissian, who intended to purchase a new cape, visited a marketplace which contained the stall of the Trandoshan vendor Borkus. The Trandoshan offered Calrissian a blue cape which he claimed was ameron skin. The smuggler, however, claimed that the cape resembled zelk husk instead. Borkus, who had taken Calrissian's response as an accusation of lying, then threatened to turn Calrissian into a cape.[1]

Behind the scenes

Zelk husk was mentioned in the first issue of the Star Wars: Lando - Double or Nothing comic series, which was written by Rodney Barnes, illustrated by Paolo Villanelli, and published by Marvel Comics[1] on May 30, 2018.[4]
