- "Naboo has a queen about my age, and Toydaria a king only a few years older—and there's a crown princess on Alderaan, isn't there? Breha? We could have a sort of summit. Something like, 'the next generation of galactic leaders.'"
- ―Fanry to her court, about potentially inviting Ameé to Pijal
Ameé[3] was a female individual who was born on[1] the Mid Rim planet[3] Naboo[1] around 54 BBY.[2] In 40 BBY, they began serving as the Queen of Naboo for the Royal House of Naboo after their predecessor, Queen Ekay, left the position.[3] That year,[2] Princess Fanry of the Inner Rim planet Pijal considered inviting Ameé and other young galactic leaders to her world for a summit. However, her lord regent Rael Averross rejected the idea. Days later, Fanry decried democracy after seizing absolute power at her coronation, insisting that she wished to become a warrior queen, similar to Ameé and other queens of Naboo, on behalf of her people.[1] In 36 BBY, Ameé left their position as Naboo's monarch, and Queen Réillata took their place.[3]
Behind the scenes
Ameé was first mentioned, albeit indirectly, in Master & Apprentice, a 2019 novel written by Claudia Gray.[1] The queen was first identified by name in Star Wars: Timelines, a 2023 reference book.[3] Gray indicated that the inclusion of Fanry and the other young rulers the princess mentioned in the novel—which included Ameé—was important, stating in an interview that she did not judge a world's decision to have relatively inexperienced leaders if it worked for them.[4]
