A small and ingrate planet, Alzaris had a very low population, concentrated around a very small open field which served as a spaceport and some massive greenhouses. The planet is constantly bathed in the reddish light of its dying star.[1]
Although the atmosphere is extremely wet but breathable, there is arid portions on the planet, which are used for crops.[1]
A big part of the production is sold to the Imperial artificial satellite in orbit around Rama.[1]
Behind the scenes
Alzaris was created by Jean Balczesak for the ambiguously canon roleplaying scenario "Hold-up galactique" which appeared in the French magazine Casus Belli 62.[1]
The planet's soil is described in two different ways in the scenario : arid and soggy. It is possible that the arid portions are used for the greenhouse, as the muddy area are impractical for farming.[1]
