Alurion was a planet located in the Outer Rim Territories' Raioballo sector. The world was covered in vast tar pits. During the Yuuzhan Vong War, the Raioballo sector lay along the initial invasion path of the Yuuzhan Vong resulting in their conquest of many of the worlds. Cut off from Republic assistance, Alurion sat behind enemy lines until the end of the war.

Behind the scenes

The planet Alurion was created for the novel The New Jedi Order: Vector Prime, published in 1999. It was later listed as an Outer Rim planet in the The Essential Atlas.
