Alga-scrubber convertor tubes were a replaceable component of the unit attached to meknek helmets during the High Republic Era. Using for scrubbing algae, the tube was white and cylindrical with black bands circling each end and a ribbed portion around the middle.[1] In 132 BBY,[2] the mekneks Fillik and Verosha Aniseya had alga-scrubber convertor tubes in the units attached to their meknek helmets while they worked on the shield generator on the exterior of[3] the Trade Federation WD-2550 Whydah-class yield conveyer Fallon.[1]

Alga-scrubber convertor tubes appeared in "Lost / Found,"[3] the first episode of the live-action television series Star Wars: The Acolyte, which aired June 4, 2024 on Disney+.[4] The tubes were first identified in the 2025 reference book Star Wars: The Acolyte: The Visual Guide, which was written by Pablo Hidalgo.[1]
