"Test Unit 08-B has produced fascinating results. The garment's cobolite weave can produce a weapons amplification field 2.41m in diameter. Unfortunately, battle droids exposed to the effect become violently disoriented. Given their importance to the war effort, Command has ordered us to halt our work until peace is secured. Sadly, I must admit I agree."
―Research log by Aiyah Pellorean.[1]

Dr. Aiyah Pellorean was a research director for the Confederacy of Independent Systems who oversaw the production of Test Unit 08-B during the Clone Wars.

Biography

During the Clone Wars, a galactic conflict between the Confederacy of Independent Systems and the Galactic Republic[1] that took place from 22 BBY to 19 BBY,[2] Dr. Aiyah Pellorean served as a research director for the Confederacy during which they oversaw the production of Test Unit 08-B, set of experimental clothing which included a belt, jacket, and pants. The outfit produced an amplification field of 2.41 meters that increased the effectiveness of ion weapons. However the outfit also caused nearby battle droids to become violently disorientated. Since battle droids were such an important part of the Confederacy's war effort, Pellorean was ordered to halt their work until peace was achieved. Agreeing with the assessment, Pellorean had the outfit stored in a bunker on the Outer Rim planet Akiva. The outfit remained there through the end of the war and into the reign of the Republic's successor, the Galactic Empire.[1]
