Adamastor was a largely aquatic world[3] situated in the Adamastor system of the Core Worlds.[1] Its surface featured a number of oceans.[2]

This section of the article assumes 100% game completion of Star Wars: The Old Republic. Any alternate stories may be noted in the "Behind the scenes" section. The events in this section may or may not have been confirmed as canon within the Star Wars Legends continuity.

By approximately 3643 BBY,[4] a group of Selkath[2]—a species hailing from[5] the Inner Rim[6] planet Manaan[5]—operated a medical facility that floated on Adamastor's oceans. At one point, they decided to retire the facility and abandon it to the planet's waves, with an individual affiliated with one of the sides in the ongoing struggle between the Galactic Republic and the reconstituted Sith Empire subsequently sending a companion to retrieve anything of value from it. The companion went on to recover several experimental medical devices.[2]

The male Human Doctor Tolum Harous hailed from Adamastor, harboring an ever-lasting love for oceans. He went on to hold several honorary degrees from technological institutes throughout the galaxy and worked as an engineer for Hydrospeare Corporation beginning nearly thirty years prior to a point[3] in approximately 2 ABY.[7]

Behind the scenes

Adamastor was first mentioned in Alliance Intelligence Reports, a 1995 sourcebook for West End Games' Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game.[3] The 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas subsequently placed the Adamastor system, and therefore the world itself, in grid square L-9.[1] Adamastor was mentioned in a Scavenging Crew Skill mission of Star Wars: The Old Republic, a 2011 video game developed by BioWare, though the information regarding the mission's outcome was later removed from the game.[2]

  4. Per the reasoning here, Act I of Star Wars: The Old Republic takes place around 3643 BBY. Since players of The Old Republic can assign their companions on the mission "The Floating Hospital" independently of the main class storyline at any point during the game, the mission must take place at some point around 3643 BBY.
