The AP-M1 armor piercing grenade was a model of grenade manufactured by Merr-Sonn Munitions, Inc.. It was designed to provide light anti-armor capabilities to basic foot soldiers, detonating in a highly focused blast that can crack open even the toughest armor. The grenade cost two hundred credits and was the size of a human fist and consisted of a small shaped charge core encased in a plasteel casing.[1]
It could be thrown like a standard grenade or placed and held in position by a integral chemical adhesive system, making them well suited for precision demolition work as well as anti-vehicle and anti-armor use. The grenades were commonly used by the clone troopers of the Grand Army of the Republic during the Clone Wars between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems.[1]
