Koensayr's AD-1S Modular Multi-Role Starfighter was a highly modifiable design which uses a central chassis for the starfighter and equipped with a modular rail system.
Characteristics
Koensayr sold the starfighter's central chassis for 25,000 credits. It was flown by one pilot with space for two passengers. Although unarmed and without a hyperdrive, it featured a magnetic modular rail system for customizable outfitting.[1]
History
The corporate designers believed that the modular system would be valued by military buyers as they could buy one central design, instead of more specialized variants.[1]
Ultimately, the cost of customization and proprietary parts reduced interest in the starfighter, though it found life in service to mechanics who could customize it to their liking.[1]
Behind the scenes
The AD-1S appears in Fantasy Flight Games' 2016 roleplaying game sourcebook Special Modifications.[1]
