The 92nd Coruscant Engineers were a military unit. One of the unit's squads accidentally received a shipment of LJ-50 concussion rifles. The squad's armorer saw the potential for the blaster rifles to be effective at breaching walls and scattering enemy troopers and stripped them down into blaster carbines.[1]
The weapons were undeniably effective and impressed the squad's superior officer. Word then reached Arakyd Industries, who began manufacturing the carbines as LJ-40 concussion carbines alongside the LJ-50s.[1]

The 92nd Coruscant Engineers were first mentioned in the 2018 supplement to Fantasy Flight Games' Star Wars: Age of Rebellion sourcebook Fully Operational.[1]
