8422 was a B1-series battle droid that served the Confederacy of Independent Systems. During the Battle of Murkhana, the droid approached Captain Wilhuff Tarkin with a E-5 blaster rifle in hand.[2]

Behind the scenes

8422 was pictured in "Tarkin Revealed," a 2014 article released in Star Wars Insider 153. While the droid's designation can be spotted on an image,[2] the numbers could not be identified until Star Wars: The Complete Visual Dictionary, New Edition gave a translation for B1 numerals.[4]
