The 6-2Aug2 hunting rifle was a model of slugthrower rifle[1] present in multiple homesteads on backwater worlds in the Outer Rim Territories such as Saleucami[2] and Tatooine.[3]

Design

This model of slugthrower rifle utilized a more old-fashioned design that was visually similar to other slugthrowers such as the Tusken cycler rifle,[3] with an elongated barrel that allowed for precise shots at long range. Like similar rifles, this model was reloaded manually.[4]

Suu Lawquane used a slugthrower rifle

Suu Lawquane owned a 6-2Aug2 hunting rifle on the planet Saleucami during the Clone Wars[2] and shortly afterward.[4] She used the rifle on multiple occasions, such as a precautionary measure when a group of Galactic Republic clone troopers that included an injured Clone Captain Rex sought out shelter at her husband's Farm. Her husband Cut Lawquane also used the slugthrower days afterward to fight off droids in his home with the help of Captain Rex.[2] She again used the rifle years later to fend off a nexu that was attacking a young girl named Omega soon after the rise of the Galactic Empire.[4]

While Savage Opress was attack by local Junkers, one of them used a 6-2Aug2 to snipe the unaware Zabrak from behind but Morley attacked the Junker by slapping his tail into his hip, which made the Junker miss his shot.[5]

Luke Skywalker also owned this model during his youth on Tatooine. He took the rifle with him when he went to search for runaway droid R2-D2 in his X-34 landspeeder. The rifle was destroyed when Luke was subsequently ambushed in the Jundland Wastes by the Tusken Raider A'Koba prior to Skywalker's rescue by Obi-Wan Kenobi.[3]
