5th Fleet Security, also known as Fifth Fleet Security,^[1] was a division^[2] of clone troopers that was assigned to serve as a security force aboard the Republic fleet's warships during^[1] the Clone Wars between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems.^[3]

During the war, 5th Fleet Security clone troopers wielded the^[1] DC-15S blaster carbine,^[4] and wore^[1] Phase II clone trooper armor^[4] that could be fitted with an antenna on the back. Their armor had several navy blue markings,^[1] which designated their affiliation with the division.^[2] The armor included a set of two navy blue stripes on the helmet, breastplate, left shoulder, right forearm, and on the armor's left thigh and right knee. The armor's utility belt and its stomach plates also had navy blue markings.^[1]

Behind the scenes

The design for 5th Fleet Security clone troopers originated as concept art for the film Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith,^[5] which was released on May 19, 2005.^[6] It was created by Alex Jaeger as part of a series of concept art pieces depicting different clone trooper commanders designed for different theaters of war. The design was showcased in The Making of Star Wars Revenge of the Sith,^[5] a reference book written by Jonathan W. Rinzler and published^[7] on April 2, 2005.^[8]

Alex Jaeger's concept art was later used for an action figure in Hasbro's 2005 Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith toy line, although the division was not given a name.^[2] 5th Fleet Security was later identified as part of a 2006 action figure in Hasbro's Star Wars: The Saga Collection line of toys.^[1]
