A spy operated as part of the droid 5A-G3's Eriadu droid intelligence squad during the Nihil conflict. They were stationed on the planet Eriadu while it was trapped behind the Nihil marauders' Stormwall—a barrier preventing hyperspace travel, effectively cutting off some worlds from the wider galaxy.[1] In 228 BBY,[2] the spy worked alongside several others in the squad to gather intelligence when the Nihil invaded Eriadu.[1]

That year,[2] on Eriadu, the spy found an EX droid, which had been sent through the Stormwall by Jedi Master Elzar Mann in an attempt to contact Jedi behind the barrier. They gave the droid to 5A-G3, who then passed it on to Jedi Knight Qort.[1]

Behind the scenes

The spy was first mentioned in the first issue of the 2024 canon comic book miniseries Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures – Dispatches from the Occlusion Zone. The comic was written by Daniel José Older, illustrated by Paris Alleyne, and published by Dark Horse Comics as part of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project's Phase III[1] on October 9, 2024.[3]

Meanwhile, the events of "Tales from the Occlusion Zone: No Big Deal" include the Stormwall's expansion and also depict the start of Pikka Adren's pregnancy. A later story, "Tales from the Occlusion Zone: Sparks Fly," states that Adren is eight months pregnant during its events, indicating that it is set eight months after "No Big Deal," and therefore one year, eight months, and two weeks after the fall of Starlight Beacon. "Sparks Fly" is set during the Battle of Eriadu, an event that begins in The High Republic Adventures Phase III - The Wedding Spectacular. As StarWars.com Star Wars: The High Republic Chronological Reader's Guide on StarWars.com (article) (backup link) places The High Republic Adventures – Dispatches from the Occlusion Zone 1 between the events of "No Big Deal" and The Wedding Spectacular, its events must also be set in 228 BBY.
