The 128th Fighter Group served the Galactic Empire's starfighter corps utilizing TIE/IN interceptors. The fighter group was an elite Imperial unit alongside the 181st Imperial Fighter Wing.[1]

Behind the scenes

The 128th Fighter Group was first mentioned in the new Star Wars canon in the thirty-third issue of the De Agostini magazine Star Wars: Build the Millennium Falcon, published in 2015.[1] In the Star Wars Legends continuity, the unit first appeared as the 128th TIE Interceptor Squadron in the 1998 LucasArts video game Star Wars: Rogue Squadron.[2]
