1138 was a B1-series battle droid serving under the Trade Federation Droid Army during the Naboo Crisis. 1138 took part on the Battle of Naboo under the command of OOM-9. The droids were able to create a victory for the Federation, but this was short-lived, as every Federation battle droid was shut down when Anakin Skywalker destroyed the Droid Control Ship above Naboo.[1]

Behind the scenes

1138 was created for George Lucas' 1999 film Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace, and was featured as both an animatronic model and a computer generated character. The character's identification number is featured on its back, and is one of the many references to Lucas' debut feature film, THX 1138.
