Sinkadus #13[1]

The partnership between West End Games and Äventyrsspel was announced in the ninth issue of Sinkadus (published August, 1987)[4] and the contract was signed with West End Games prior to an announcement in the tenth issue (published November, 1987).[3] Äventyrsspels thirteenth issue of Sinkadus magazine asserts that material was used under authorization of Lucasfilm, Ltd.,[1] however, later issues did not include this declaration. The fourteenth issue described how West End Games' Curtis Smith, having been invited by Äventyrsspel, attended the Spelkongress 88 convention in Stockholm to present the roleplaying game to the Swedish public.[1] In the thirtieth issue (published April, 1991), Äventyrsspel acknowledged that demand for the West End Games' Star Wars adventures had lessened,[5] and by the thirty-second issue of Sinkadus, Äventyrsspel elaborated on difficulties in releasing future translations.[6]

As of 2006, Leland Chee, had been unable to confirm with certainty whether some publications were officially affiliated with Lucasfilm, nor able to confirm the specifics of some Lucas Licensing arrangements prior to his tenure at Lucasfilm and the establishement of the Holocron continuity database.[7] This, combined with comments made by the author's of The Essential Atlas, has resulted in certain materials published prior to 2009's The Essential Atlas having their licensing status remain undetermined.[8]
