Development
It was announced in April 2023 at Warner Bros Discovery's investor meeting.[2]
On March 19, 2025, a title and plot was revealed that this spin-off is centered on Stuart.[3]
On June 9, 2025, Chuck Lorre revealed that he and Bill Prady has written 10 episodes with Zak Penn for the series.[4]
Casting
On October 10, 2024, Kevin Sussman (Stuart), Brian Posehn (Bert), and Lauren Lapkus (Denise) will star in the upcoming spinoff. [5]
On February 11, 2025, it was announced that John Ross Bowie is joining the cast, to reprise his role as Barry Kripke after he signed a talent holding deal with Warner Bros.[6]
On August 13, 2025, it was announced that Ryan Cartwright and Josh Brener are returning for recurring roles along with Tommy Walker as new characters.[1]

- This is the third spin-off series in The Big Bang Theory universe to have a title based on characters from the original series after the prequel Young Sheldon along with its spin-off Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage.
